Tye has always been mechanically inclined, shadowing his dad at the family owned Roy & Son Fencing and spending his free time tinkering, taking things apart and thinking of creative ways to use the family tool set. If someone mentioned public performance, though, Tye would be the first to volunteer to operate the spotlight, not be the one to shine in front of it.
However, Adrianna Valle, Bright Light Institute’s Performing Arts Director, saw a spark in Tye she wanted to grow. His attention to technical details could also be used in a more visible setting - a setting that would stretch his comfort zone and expose him to a new set of opportunities. For one week this summer, Tye stepped out in faith and held a leading role on stage in Junie B. Jones: The Musical. Playing to a packed house of almost 400 people, Tye provided Junie guidance has her “Dad,” singing a solo, delivering his lines and catching Junie B’s little sister before she fell to the floor.
This summer, Tye found his voice as a member of Bright Lights Institute. Are you looking for a program designed to unlock the hidden gifts in your student this fall?
