WHAT IS BRIGHT LIGHTS TROUPE?

This is for ages 8-18. We will be focussing on nurturing and growing the actor and performer in your child. Content will be advanced, intensive and fast paced. Students will be expected to bring diligence and professionalism into each class. If your child’s passion is theatre, this is for you. Students will not only learn from advanced acting, singing and dancing classes, but a sense of community, belonging, team work skills, accountability, problem solving, critical thinking, empathy, hardwork and play. The skills passed on will be invaluable and students will be able to carry on the lessons they’ve learned into whatever future endeavors they pursue. (Prior Bright Lights Fall experience not required, but will be taken into consideration.)

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR BRIGHT LIGHTS TROUPE:

Bright Lights Troupe will be audition only. Auditions will be August 26th and 27th 5-8pm. You only have to attend one audition day. All students will start with a dance audition together and then will be selected one at a time to do their singing and acting auditions. Upon arrival, you will fill out an audition form and that is the order in which you will audition. You are not required to stay past your audition. **Selections for this Troupe will be based on passion and willingness to learn.

  • Students must prepare a monologue no longer than one minute. (Please chose a monologue that best fits you as a person. (For instance, if you are fifteen, try to not pick a monologue from a grandma’s perspective.)

  • 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song selection. Make sure to bring your sheet music! (We will have an accompanist available.)

  • One page essay that explains your interest in theatre why you want to be apart of the Bright Lights Troupe.

  • Students will be required to fill out an audition form upon arrival.
